9. Troubleshooting
Following error messages can appear.
Error display Possible errors Causes and correction of errors
Err
The scale was not activated before you
stood on it. If you stand on the scale
before “0.0” appears in the display, the
scale will not function correctly.
Activate the scale correctly (wait for 0.0) and
repeat the measurement.
Err
The electrical resistance between the
conductors and the soles of the feet is
too high (e.g. in the case of thick cal-
luses or too dry soles).
Repeat the measurement barefoot.
If necessary, remove the calluses from the soles
of your feet.
Err
The fat percentage is outside the mea-
surable range (less than 5% or greater
than 50%).
Repeat the measurement barefoot.
If necessary, remove the calluses from the soles
of your feet.
Err
The water percentage is outside the
measurable range (less than 36% or
greater than 70%).
Repeat the measurement barefoot.
If necessary, remove the calluses from the soles
of your feet.
Err
The muscle percentages and bone
measurements are outside the measur-
able range (age and gender related).
Repeat the measurement barefoot.
If necessary, remove the calluses from the soles
of your feet.
0_Ld
The maximum capacity of 330 lb
(150kg, 24 st) has been exceeded,
“0_Ld” appears on the display.
Weigh only the maximum permissible weight.
Lo
Low Power. Change the batteries.

BF
No display. Batteries are empty, batteries were inserted incor-
rectly or the scale is broken.
Scale shows unrealistic results. Wait until scale switches off automatically. Repeat
measurement.
Place the scale on level flooring (no carpet).
Don’t move during weighing.
10. Cleaning, maintenance and disposal
NOTICE:
Protect the scale against hard knocks, moisture, dust, chemicals, major temperature fluctua-
tions and heat sources which are too close (e.g. stoves, heating radiators). This may damage
the unit. Please see section 10 “Cleaning, maintenance and disposal” and section 11 “Technical
specifications” for details.
Do not use any aggressive solvents, cleaning agents, detergents or any other strong chemicals
to clean the device.
Never immerse and or spill water or any other liquid onto the scale, otherwise liquid will enter
the scale and cause damage.
Do not wash the scale in a washing machine, dish washer or tumble dryer.
Observe the local regulations for material disposal. Dispose of the device in accordance with
local regulations.
Do not press the buttons with excessive force or with any pointed objects.
Never attempt to repair the instrument or adjust it yourself. This may damage the unit and impair the
functions. If you need to have the unit repaired, please contact our customer service. Please see
warranty for service contact. Before submitting any complaint, first check the batteries and replace
them if necessary.
Changes or modifications to the device will nullify the user warranty.
