Put on the chest
strap so that it is
positioned imme-
diately below the
pectoral muscle.
Ensure that the
chest strap is not
too loose or too
tight.
Place the hook
back into the
loop on the chest
strap.
Position the chest
strap so that the
transmitter unit is
facing outwards
and the writing
on the transmitter
unit can be read
from the front.
On men, the chest
strap should lie
immediately be-
low the pectoral
muscle as shown,
on women, imme-
diately below the
bust.
NOTE
As optimum contact between the skin and pulse
sensors is not always possible immediately, it
may be some time before the pulse is measured
and displayed. Adjust the position of the trans-
mitter to achieve optimum contact. The formation
of sweat under the chest strap usually helps to
ensure good contact. You can also moisten the
contacts on the inside of the chest strap. To do
this, lift the chest strap away from the skin slightly
