4 Using the unit for the first time and basic settings
4.1 Removing the battery insulation strip, replacing the batteries
Note
Two batteries are included in the delivery scope of your blood-sugar measuring device.
They are already inserted in the battery compartment.
Before using the unit the first time, you must remove the insulation strip.
1 Remove the cover of the battery compartment on the underside of the unit.
2 When you perform a battery change, remove all batteries. While changing the batter-
ies, the device retains the date and time as long as one of the batteries remains in-
serted. If the replacement takes a long time, you may have to adjust the date and
time afterwards (see "Basic settings" on page 17).
3 Insert two new batteries of type CR 2032 3V.
Ensure that the batteries are inserted with the correct polarity,
according to the diagram. See the diagram inside the battery compartment.
4 Carefully replace the lid on the battery compartment.
Note
When the battery change symbol
appears, the batteries are almost empty. Re-
place both batteries as soon as possible.
When "LP" is displayed, the batteries are so empty that no more measurements are
possible.
