4. Getting started
Inserting battery
Remove the battery compartment
cover.
Insert the two batteries into the
battery compartment ensuring
correct polarity.
Use exclusively brand-name batteries of the type: 2x1.5 V
Micro (Alkaline Type LR 03). Making absolutely sure that
you insert them with the correct polarity as marked. Do
not use rechargeable batteries.
Then close the battery compartment by fitting the cover
and clicking it in position.
If the low battery indicator
is flashing, then the batter-
ies are very low. It is still possible to take a measurement,
but the batteries should be replaced soon.
If the battery change
is continuously illuminated, meas-
urement is no longer possible and you must replace all the
batteries. Once batteries have been removed from the de-
vice, the time must be reset.
Used batteries do not belong in the household waste. You
are legally obliged to dispose of the batteries. Dispose of
them via your specialist electrical supplier or local collecting
point for recyclable waste.
Note: Batteries containing pollutant substances
are marked as follows: Pb = Battery contains
lead, Cd = Battery contains cadmium,
Hg = Battery contains mercury.
Setting date and time
First the year flashes. Using the M2 button, you can
increase the basic values to be set, using M1 you can
decrease the values. Set the year and confirm the entry
using the start/stop button
.
Now set the month using the M1 and M2 buttons.
Confirm using the start/stop button
.
Now set the day using the M1 and M2 buttons. Confirm
using the start/stop button
.
Now you can set the time, which is displayed in 24-hour
mode. First set the hour, confirm using the start/stop but-
ton
and then set the minutes. After confirming with the
start/stop button,
the device switches off automatically
and the time is displayed.
5. Measuring blood pressure
5.1 Positioning cuff
Bare your left wrist, making sure that the circulation in the
arm is not restricted by any clothes etc. that are too tight.
Position the cuff on the inside of your wrist.
Fasten the cuff with the Velcro fastening so that the upper
edge of the monitor is positioned approx. 1 cm below the
ball of your thumb.
